JONES VOTES TO DEPORT ILLEGAL ALIEN GANG MEMBERS

Sep 14, 2017 Issues: Illegal Immigration

WASHINGTON, DC – Today, Congressman Walter B. Jones (NC-3) took action to make America’s streets safer by voting for H.R. 3697, the Criminal Gang Member Removal Act. This legislation would ban any foreign born person participating in gang activity from entering this country, as well as allow the removal of a foreign born person who is found to be participating in gang activity within the United States. In addition, participation in gang activity would make that person ineligible for immigration benefits, such as asylum, special immigrant juvenile status, and temporary protected status.

“For far too long, illegal alien gangsters have freely roamed the streets of America without fear of punishment,” said Congressman Jones.  “Violent, illegal alien gang members have no place in this country and should be dealt with immediately, not allowed to suck up more of our tax dollars.”

H.R. 3697 passed the House with a vote of 233-175, and now heads to the Senate for further consideration.

Congressman Jones is an ardent supporter of securing borders and ending illegal immigration.
