WASHINGTON, D.C. – This week Congressman Walter B. Jones (NC-3) spoke out in strong opposition to the new U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) detention guidelines, which grant extraordinary benefits for illegal aliens in ICE detention.  In a letter to Secretary of Homeland Security Janet Napolitano, Jones and Congressman Steve King (IA-5) expressed their concern with the guidelines, which include hormone treatment for transsexual illegal aliens.  Further information on the new guidelines can be found here.

“Hard-working Americans are struggling every day to make ends meet while the Obama Administration is handing over their tax dollars to fund hormone treatment for transsexuals who broke our laws by entering this country illegally,” said Jones.  “This is absolutely unacceptable.”

With the federal government already over $15 trillion in debt, the Administration’s wasteful spending is adding over $1 trillion to that debt every year.  Congressman Jones and Congressman King urged Secretary Napolitano and ICE Director John Morton to immediately rewrite these guidelines to protect taxpayers from this kind of unnecessary expenditure.
