Washington, DC

My Washington, DC office will offer internships during the summer of 2015 for college students and recent college graduates.  This opportunity provides invaluable work experience, as well as a chance to see how the legislative process works firsthand.  Hours are flexible to accommodate interns' schedules, but generally run from 8:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. when Congress is in session and 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. when not in session. Internship start and end dates are negotiable.

In Washington, interns' responsibilities will vary, including but not limited to: answering phones, maintaining the front office, processing mail, attending hearings and briefings, and assisting staff with research and constituent services.  This is a great opportunity for applicants who are interested in the political process and are seeking practical, hands-on experience in a professional environment.

The prospective intern should be responsible, focused, self-motivated, and organized. North Carolina ties are preferred, but not essential.  Click on the "Congressional Internship Form" link at the bottom of this page and complete the application if you would like to apply for an internship in my Washington, DC office.  Application deadline for summer internships is March 15, 2015.
