JONES VOTES TO REPEAL OBAMACARE, CUT FUNDING FOR PLANNED PARENTHOOD

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Congressman Walter B. Jones (NC-3) voted for final passage of H.R. 3762, The Restoring Americans’ Healthcare Freedom Reconciliation Act. The bill strikes at the heart of Obamacare by repealing the employer mandates, the Medicaid expansion, the medical device tax, the annual fee on health insurers, tax subsidies for those who purchase insurance through the Obamacare exchanges, and includes a cut in federal funding of Planned Parenthood for a year. The reconciliation bill passed the House 240 to 181, after passing the Senate 52 to 47 in December. It now goes to President Obama’s desk.

“From the start, Obamacare has been a disaster, which is why I have done everything I can to repeal or defund the law,” said Congressman Jones. “I will continue to the fight to end this unconstitutional government takeover of our healthcare system and its disastrous effects on our economy, in addition to making sure Planned Parenthood does not receive hard-earned taxpayer dollars for the butchery of unborn babies.  Enough is enough. The American people want to see Obamacare fully repealed and are disgusted by Planned Parenthood’s taxpayer-funded butchery.”
