JONES VOTES TO OVERTURN OBAMA RULE REQUIRING TITLE X FUNDS TO GO TO PLANNED PARENTHOOD

Feb 17, 2017 Issues: Values

WASHINGTON, DC – Yesterday, Congressman Walter B. Jones (NC-3) voted for H. J. Res. 43, a resolution to overturn an Obama administration rule that would require states to provide Title X funding to abortion providers such as Planned Parenthood, the nation’s number one provider of abortion. The resolution passed the House of Representatives with a vote of 230-188 and now moves to the Senate for further consideration.

“If states do not want to fund abortion providers through Title X, that is their absolute right,” said Congressman Jones. “As a pro-life advocate, I can never support the federal government coercing states to give funding to abortion providers.”
