JONES RECEIVES AWARD FROM THE AMERICAN CONSERVATIVE UNION

May 6, 2010

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today U.S. Representative Walter B. Jones (NC-3) received recognition from the American Conservative Union (ACU) for his commitment to America’s Constitution and our nation’s core conservative principles.  Every year, the ACU Ratings Award is given out to members of the House and Senate who scored 80% or higher on a wide variety of issues of interest to grassroots conservatives that were voted on during the first session of the 111th Congress.  David A. Keene, ACU Chairman, designated Jones as an ACU Conservative for 2009.

“I take pride in representing the conservative values of my Eastern North Carolina district, and I am honored to be recognized by the American Conservative Union,” said Jones.

The ACU looks at these ratings as an indication of which Members stand on the side of liberty, prosperity and American greatness.  It is the oldest and largest grassroots conservative organization around Washington today.  The of the ACU is to  represent the views of Americans who are concerned with economic growth through lower taxes and reduced government spending and the issues of liberty, personal responsibility, traditional values and national security.
