JONES PUSHES PARK SERVICE ON BUXTON, FRISCO FLOODING

WASHINGTON, DC – Congressmen Walter B. Jones (NC-03) is calling on the National Park Service to find long-term solutions to the flooding that has affected Buxton and Frisco in recent years.  The Park Service is currently  in a period of public scoping to get the public’s feedback on potential solutions to address the issue.  The Park Service is accepting comments through November 20th.

In a letter sent to Cape Hatteras National Seashore Superintendent Dave Hallac on Wednesday, Congressman Jones said: “Over the past several years, visitors’ access to popular parts of the seashore has been impaired by flooding on many occasions. I know you have done your best to use the tools at your immediate disposal to provide temporary relief, and I am grateful for your help.  However, we all acknowledge that long-term solutions are needed. Anything that can be done in that regard would be greatly appreciated. ”
