JONES ON C-SPAN TO DISCUSS BILL TO STOP THE WASTE OF TAXPAYERS’ MONEY IN AFGHANISTAN

WASHINGTON, DC – Last week, Congressman Walter B. Jones (NC-3) introduced H.R. 1666, a bipartisan bill which would stop the waste, fraud and abuse of American taxpayers’ money in the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan.  The bill would also provide a means for Congress to uphold their long-neglected constitutional responsibility to conduct a full debate regarding continued military engagement in Afghanistan.

Tomorrow – Tuesday, March 28th – Congressmen Walter B. Jones (NC-3) and John Garamendi (CA-3) will join C-SPAN’s Washington Journal to discuss H.R. 1666 and the importance of reigning in wasteful spending in Afghanistan. You can watch the live discussion on C-SPAN or online HERE tomorrow at 8:30 am.

Original cosponsors of H.R. 1666 include: Representatives Jimmy Duncan (R-TN), Don Young (R-AK), Thomas Massie (R-KY), John Garamendi (D-CA), Barbara Lee (D-CA), Jackie Speier (D-CA), and Emanuel Cleaver (D-MO).

The full bill is attached.

For over a decade, Congressman Jones has led the fight against the waste and abuse of U.S. tax dollars overseas.
