JONES AND GARAMENDI DISCUSS BILL TO STOP THE WASTE OF TAXPAYERS’ MONEY IN AFGHANISTAN

WASHINGTON, DC – Today, Congressmen Walter B. Jones (NC-3) and John Garamendi (CA-3) joined C-SPAN’s Washington Journal to discuss their bipartisan bill, H.R. 1666, which would stop the waste, fraud and abuse of American taxpayers’ money in the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan.  The bill would also provide a means for Congress to uphold their long-neglected constitutional responsibility to conduct a full debate regarding continued military engagement in Afghanistan.

Original cosponsors of H.R. 1666 include: Representatives Jimmy Duncan (R-TN), Don Young (R-AK), Thomas Massie (R-KY), John Garamendi (D-CA), Barbara Lee (D-CA), Jackie Speier (D-CA), and Emanuel Cleaver (D-MO).

The full bill is attached.

For over a decade, Congressman Jones has led the fight against the waste and abuse of U.S. tax dollars overseas.
